Montana Enduro Series, Grand Enduro

Montana Enduro Series, Grand Enduro
Presented by Grand Targhee Resort and Habitat

Online Registration

Thanks to Fly Racing and all our other sponsors for making it a great season. We’re excited to dip over the border once again and visit Grand Targhee Resort, with help from our friends at Habitat High Altitude Provisions. The series finale features two days of racing, and features a treat you don’t want to miss: Mill Creek! We made you work for it last round at Big Sky, so we hope you enjoy a little taste of Super D flavor to end the season. Discounted lift passes () will be available to pre-registered racers for Friday practice. The registration cut-off for discounted passes is 4:00 PM MDT on Thursday. Race-day passes are included in your registration and will be provided at check-in Saturday morning.

Don’t miss the Enduro Dirt Social on Friday night, at Tatanka Tavern. Wood-fired pizza is a great way to fuel up for Saturday’s racing. Tatanka has a phenomenal view of the Tetons from their 3rd story patio, and the place will be all ours. Plus, there will be free beer and swag from SPY Optic and Teton Gravity Research while it lasts! On Saturday evening, we’ll gather at Habitat for the Skulls & Dirt Social to swap race stories under the Gemini Skulls overall series awards. After the race finishes on Sunday, we’ll have the awards ceremony at the Grand Targhee base area, conveniently next to the Trap Bar & Grill.

Special lodging rates are available, mention the Grand Enduro, Montana Enduro Series when calling Grand Targhee Resort Reservations at 800.TARGHEE to book your lodging at a discounted rate.Schedule

Stage 1Sticks n StonesThe Dreamcatcher lift takes you to the top of Fred’s Mountain, where you’ll start Stage One near the top of the Grand Traverse. Try to keep your eyes on the trail, instead of the commanding view of the Grand Teton. Drop into Sticks n Stones, which is an old-school, hand-built festival of rocks and roots that will make you forget you’re in a bike park. The stage ends at the Powder Reserve Traverse Road.

Stage 238 SpecialCornering drills will pay off… This stage ends at the cat skiing yurt.
Stage 2 JuniorsColter’s EscapeColter’s Escape is a singletrack roller-coaster through aspen stands. This stage ends at the cat skiing yurt.
Stage 3Mill CreekThis trail takes you off the resort into the Teton sidecountry, and all the way down to the floor of Teton Canyon. It is an awesome three miles of classic ribbon singletrack with plenty of natural rock and root jump options. The stage ends at the trailhead by the Teton Canyon parking area.
TransferShuttle back to Grand Targhee ResortSunday: 4 miles, 350′ climbing. 2,210′ descending
Stage 4Rock Garden to Otter SlideThe Dreamcatcher lift takes you to Rockgarden, the newest downhill trail at Grand Targhee. Rock Garden starts off rocky, loose and off-camber, and opens up into big tabletops. Continue straight across the service road onto Otter Slide, a bobsled run of beautifully banked turns. Come off the wall ride and the stage ends just before the mustache ride feature.
TransferPika Traverse to ShoshoneHead up Pika Traverse to Shoshone, and back towards the bottom of Rock Garden. Watch for traffic control.
Stage 5Chutes and LaddersThis trail is similar to Otter Slide: lots of well-bermed turns, but also includes some other features, such as tabletops. The race ends at the base area.

The course is available to view and follow on Trailforks: Day one. Day one juniors. Day two. If you click the ‘add to wishlist’ button when viewing it in a browser, it will sync to your Trailforks mobile app (you may have to update your downloaded region first). Also, the attached PDF is viewable in the Avenza PDF Map application.Race Timing

We use the SPORTident pCard system, which is based on a RFID chip strapped to your left wrist. This is “racing to a stop.” You must make physical contact with the timing beacon at the beginning and end of each stage. An audible ‘beep’ lets you know your time stamp was recorded. We will collect the pCards after Saturday’s stages, scan the day’s results, and pass them out again on Sunday morning.

Grand Targhee has an awesome network of cross-country trails in addition to their downhill network, so friends and family can get out for some great rides, hikes, or runs while you’re practicing or racing.Lodging
